From Puntotek 2 to Puntotek 3

An old computer showing a cross stitch pattern and, joined by a ribbon of stitches, a laptop, a phone and a tablet showing the same design

If you already used Puntotek, this is the next generation.

Can I open my Puntotek 2 work?

Yes. Puntotek 3 opens the .ptk.txt files you saved with Puntotek 2.8.

And you don’t have to take our word for it: every pattern in the Collection on this site was made with Puntotek 2.8. Open any of them with a single click — they are exactly the same kind of file you have saved.

How to open yours

  1. Open Puntotek 3.
  2. Go to the files menu and choose Import.
  3. Pick your .ptk.txt, wherever you keep it: USB stick, hard drive, anywhere.

Mind the word: it is import, not open. “Open” is for work that is already inside Puntotek; “import” is for bringing one in from outside.

And you don’t need an account for this. Open Puntotek 3, import your file and carry on stitching where you left off.

What’s new

It runs in your browser. Nothing to install. And if you’d rather have it as an app, it installs in one click and works just the same. Here we explain exactly what that is and what it cannot do on your device.

On whatever you own. Windows, Mac, tablet or phone. The same tool, fitted to each screen.

Your work, in your cloud. Start on the computer, carry on from the tablet on the sofa and finish wherever you like: the work travels with you.

A new image importer. Turn a photo or an illustration into a pattern, adjusting the size and comparing palettes until you get the result you want. Here it is, step by step. This one does need an account.

A PDF made for stitching. Symbols, legend, colours and pages, ready to print or to follow on screen. How it is put together.

A new interface. Menus are organised by what you are doing — drawing, stitches, colours, text — and every screen links to its chapter in the manual.
