The SEAT 600 in red, at three quarters, with that egg-shaped body that looks like nothing else: the little Spanish car that put a whole country on wheels in the sixties. The doors open against the wind — the handle sits on the leading edge, as the era demanded — and through the window you can see the steering wheel and the seats. The highlight runs along the shoulder of the panel and down the bonnet in one clean line, with the shadow pressed tight under the sill. At the front, headlamps sunk into the wings with the fluting of the lens, a chrome bumper with its two guards, the round badge on the nose and two small red lamps. The wheels wear pale hubcaps with chromed centres. Above, the lettering «SEAT 600» stitched in navy and red with its two rules: the sign comes with the pattern. It is 296 x 217 stitches in only twelve colours, 38,473 stitches in all — every one a whole cross, no halves and no backstitch — and more than a third of the work goes in a single red, DMC 666, so the bodywork moves along by itself. On 14-count it comes out at about 54 x 39 cm; on 18-count, 42 x 31.
