Santa holding his lantern high, lighting the way with the light of Christmas: a red coat down to his feet trimmed in white, a hat with a sprig of holly, the beard covering his mouth, a black belt with a golden buckle and dark gloves. Inside the lantern, the flame is worked in three warm shades, from orange to cream. It is 84 x 126 stitches in 14 colors, about 15 by 23 centimetres on 14-count.
It pairs with the Saint Nicholas in this same family: they are almost the same size — 86 x 124 the bishop, 84 x 126 this one — and share the same face. Stitched together they tell the whole story, from the saint who left gifts in secret to the Santa who brings them today. And since the pattern is free, you can add the year underneath and make it this Christmas's keepsake.
