The small one of the family, for what should not shout: a date, initials in a corner, a signature under a drawing, a long line that has to fit. The capitals stand eleven stitches tall and the lowercase eight, so "Maria" comes to 49 x 11 stitches — about 3½ by ¾ of an inch on 14-count — and it goes where none of the others will. The cut is old, with the barest serifs, and it keeps one habit of the old manuscripts: the z drops below the line just as the g does, so a word with a z needs room underneath. One thread throughout, every stitch a whole cross. It comes with no thread assigned — the preview shows it green and the key will list it without a reference — so the colour is yours to choose. All hundred characters of the family, accents, ñ and the Spanish opening marks included. Type whatever you like below and see it at once.
