Luleå, in the north of Sweden, in the depths of winter: the red-brick cathedral with its green spire, fir trees heavy with snow, the frozen sea broken into floes, a red boat moored at the quay, coloured houses in the background and a low winter sun. Underneath, LULEÅ and SWEDEN. It is 163 x 203 stitches in 10 colors, about 30 by 37 centimetres on 14-count.
More than four in ten of the stitches are snow: over ten thousand of them, all in white. If you stitch it on white fabric, you can leave those areas bare; the texture changes a little, but the picture reads just the same, because the blues still outline every sheet of ice. The pattern is free, so that choice is yours.
