All of Chile on a single sheet: the country's long, narrow map in the colours of its flag, blue with the white star at the top and red below, breaking up into islands in the far south; the snowy Andes, a red sun, the water, a Rapa Nui moai in blue and a copihue, the Chilean bellflower, hanging beside it. Underneath, CHILE in big letters and a red star. It is 112 x 141 stitches in 5 colors, about 20 by 26 centimetres on 14-count.
It is a rewarding one to stitch: clean blocks of colour, almost no isolated stitches, and a good part of the fabric left showing. That is exactly why the fabric matters: the snow on the peaks and the star on the map are worked in snow white, and on white fabric they disappear; on cream or ivory they stand out. And since the pattern is free, the lettering can be swapped for another short word, a name or a year — it makes a lovely gift for someone living far from Chile.
