An Aztec sun in a single thread: the face at the centre with its eyes, its nose and its tongue, and around it the rings of step-frets and feathers opening out to the edge, the way the Sun Stone does. It is all line, and two thirds of the chart stays bare fabric: that is what makes it read from across the room. It is 138 x 152 stitches in one color, about 25 by 28 centimetres on 14-count — you start it and finish it without ever changing thread.
